Etymology: Greek, Plesi, "near" and Greek, lophus, "crest", referring to a parasaurolphin that is near Parasaurolophus, but more plesiomorphic in its cranial anatomy.

Species: warnerensis McFEETERS, EVANS, RYAN & HADDIN, 2026
Etymology: In reference for the village of Warner in southern Alberta, Canada.

Holotype: RTMP 2016.023.0039

Locality: Milk River Ridge Reservoir Locality, Warner County, Alberta Province, Canada.

Horizon: Oldman Formation, Belly River Group.

Biostratigraphy: Comrey Sandstone Zone.

Age: Judithian age, Campanian Stage, middle Senonian subepoch, upper Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.

Material: Articulated posterior skull roof and braincase comprised of partial prefrontals, complete fused frontals, parietal, partial postorbitals, left squamosal fragment and nearly complete neurocranium.
